CTG Development Engineering Technician Generalist in Yorktown Heights, New York

CTG is seeking to fill a Development Engineering Technician Generalist opening for our client in Yorktown Heights, NY.

Location: Yorktown Heights, NY

Duration: 12 months

Duties:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on semiconductor equipment. Electro-mechanical skills are required, particularly with vacuum systems and leak checking using helium leak detectors.

  • Coordinate with field service engineers, including submitting purchase requests, scheduling repairs, escorting vendors, ensuring repairs are completed correctly, and closing out visits.

  • Manage spare parts inventory by identifying, purchasing, receiving, and tracking components.

  • Update equipment status in real time and provide status briefings to management at least twice daily.

  • Inspect, clean, and replace parts in vacuum pumps, exhaust scrubbers, and toxic gas systems.

  • Assist with hazardous waste packaging and transportation to the designated hazardous storage facility.

  • Perform general maintenance and troubleshoot semiconductor equipment, including electrical and mechanical systems, chamber wipe downs, and replacement of particle traps.

  • Change and handle toxic gas cylinders under safety guidelines, including assisting the lead technician.

Skills:

  • Electro-mechanical skills, including experience with vacuum systems (mechanical, turbo, cryo pumps) and leak detection (helium leak checking).

  • Proficient with digital multi-meters, thermocouples, and semiconductor equipment maintenance.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to think proactively to prevent equipment failures.

  • Ability to work as a team player in a dynamic environment.

Experience:

  • Experience with semiconductor equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with vacuum pumps, exhaust scrubbers, toxic gas cylinders, and hazardous waste management.

  • Prior knowledge or experience in wafer processing is a plus.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant technical field (AAS preferred) or equivalent hands-on experience in electro-mechanical systems.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
