RSVP Program Coordinator, Mahoning and Trumbull
Full-Time, 40 hours/week
$32,500/year
SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week (Full Time)
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: RSVP is a National Program of AmeriCorps Seniors. The successful coordinator will recruit, train (where appropriate), and place volunteers with local non-profit organizations, schools and healthcare agencies that address the RSVP Performance Measure Priorities for Community Impact. The coordinator oversees, and is responsible for, all RSVP program operations and goals in Trumbull & Mahoning Counties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for RSVP operations and goals in Trumbull & Mahoning Counties.
Recruits, enrolls and trains volunteers; ensures all proper documentation is obtained; conducts regular volunteer recruitment and gathering events
Provides appropriate volunteer recognition throughout the year (i.e. birthdays, important life events) and either manages, or co-manages, the planning, implementation and successful execution of annual AmeriCorps Senior recognition event in local counties.
Establishes and promotes volunteer stations; ensures stations comply with grant performance measurements as needed; ensures stations submit reports when scheduled; addresses any concerns expressed by the station relative to the RSVP program
Maintains local volunteer, station and program files and provides central office with required paperwork on time.
Submits all reports, including monthly reports on schedule
Maintains activity schedule in Outlook Calendar and updates the Calendar on a timely basis
Establishes local Advisory Council; recruits, trains and directs activities of members with assistance from other AmeriCorps Senior staff were applicable
Encourages volunteers and sites to participate in National Days of Service (ex: MLK, 9/11) and promotes national service/National Days of Service in the local community
Identifies and communicates new fiscal development sources/funders to insure adequate funds for program implementation; secures information and paperwork for funding sources as needed; submits data and receives reports as requested; assists Director, Assistant Director and Support Coordinator with information for reports as needed.
Maintains petty cash; prepares check requests as needed
Promotes the program's mission and needs and recognizes member contributions to both internal and external audiences
Develops relationships with community leaders and organizations to promote Senior Volunteerism.
Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and education/certification/registry requirements.
Assist with maintaining a safe work environment.
Provides back-up coverage to other counties as needed.
Travels throughout counties and state as needed
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to interact with others, specifically senior population.
Ability to successfully use a computer and the Microsoft Office Suite for required work functions.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
Ability to read and understand procedures, manuals, correspondence and general text.
Ability to maintain discretion with confidential data.
Valid Ohio Driver's License, reliable transportation and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability
