Title: Associate Professor (CSD Program Director) Employee Classification: FA - Faculty 16 and 24 Pay Pay Grade: Division: Academic and Student Affairs Subdivision: Spec Ed and Comm Sci and Disorders Department: College of Education Campus Location: Main Campus General Summary The Department of Special Education & Communication Sciences and Disorders (SPCD), in the College of Education at Eastern Michigan University (EMU), is seeking applicants for a faculty member in Communication Sciences & Disorders Program (CSD) who will serve as the Program Director. The candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through their research, teaching, and/or service. Principal Duties and Responsibilities The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program within the Department of Special Education & Communication Sciences and Disorders offers undergraduate and graduate degrees leading to ASHA certification. The CSD Program Area is particularly interested in qualified candidates who will provide a dynamic vision for programmatic growth, faculty development and excellence, and student retention/recruitment.
The Program Director will provide intellectual and programmatic direction for the faculty, staff, and students in the CSD Program, including coordination and oversight of EMU's Speech and Hearing Clinic. Minimum Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • A doctoral degree (Ph.D., Ed.D.) with a major emphasis in speech-language pathology; audiology; speech, language, and hearing science; or related fields; • A record of scholarly achievement in research and teaching commensurate with expectations at the appropriate rank in the Special Education & Communication Sciences and Disorders Department; • Hold ASHA certification; • Be eligible for Michigan licensure in CSD; • A minimum of 3 years of university teaching and/or clinical experience in a CSD profession; • A demonstrated record of commitment to, and achievement in, diversity, equity, inclusion and justice in clinical and/or higher education settings. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience advocating with external stakeholders • Administrative and leadership experience in higher education Special Instructions: Applicants should submit ?
