Shire Global Commercial Lead, Precision Health in Zug, Switzerland

The Global Commercial Lead, Precision Health for the Global Hematology Franchise, will be accountable for designing, developing, executing, measuring and continuously improving the integrated , portfolio precision health strategy encompassing digital health, digital / medical devices, and patient, care giver, provider and payer services. The strategy will support the growth objectives of the Franchise, and differentiate Shire by delivering a uniquely personalized experience through empowerment with information, enhanced and simplified connectivity, and improvement in clinical and economic outcomes, thereby leading to greater value for all stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the Global Hematology Franchise’s integrated, portfolio personalization strategy that supports the growth objectives of the Franchise, is aligned with the local market needs and ensures a competitive advantage for Shire.

  • Execute, measure impact and continuously improve the strategy and tactics, with the objective of co-creating and / or leveraging a unified Shire platform for customer engagement, and ensuring the tactics are fully integrated into brand strategies and plans.

  • Create and lead a cross-functional “Hematology Precision Health Innovation Center of Excellence” to ensure: 1) continuous scanning of the evolving external landscape for opportunities and competitive threats, 2) tracking, documenting and sharing external and internal best practices, 3) generating concepts and identifying opportunities for keeping Shire at the forefront of the digital health, medical device and patient, care giver and provider service ecosystem, and 4) building a network and establishing relationships with start-up, growth stage and mature companies in the relevant industries.

  • Serve as the strategic liaison between the global operating and support functions including Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Compliance, Legal, Patient and Customer Service Excellence, Patient Diagnostics and Personalization, and IT and Medical Device teams.

  • Serve as the strategic liaison with local markets, including 1) establishing and maintaining an inventory of local Shire Hematology personalization activities, 2) obtaining input from local markets for development of new global activities, and 3) ensuring local Franchise tools and services are built and rolled out at speed, while adhering to global and local regulations, and industry best practices.

  • Manage, in partnership with global support functions, the global digital and device asset rationalization process across the Hematology Franchise. Ensure global digital and device assets are leveraged across the world, and countries are not building individual assets without approval.

  • Coordinate and lead Digital & Medical Device kick starter relationships for the Global Hematology Franchise. Complete regular market scans for digital innovation partnerships and competitive threats.

Education and Experience Requirements

Include educational requirements or equivalency, required years and type(s) or experience, and

  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in digital health with demonstrated record of success in pharmaceutical, healthcare and / or biotechnology industry.

  • Minimum 3 years in medical device and / or patient services with demonstrated record of success in pharmaceutical, healthcare and / or biotechnology industry

  • Solid understanding of medical, regulatory, quality, data privacy and compliance requirements and processes, especially in the context of digital health and medical devices.

  • Knowledge of requirements for validation of medical device and digital health platforms.

  • Agility to operate in a global environment with a demonstrated knowledge of key markets, in particular US, EU, Japan, LatAm.

·Track record of strong strategic thinking, agility in building alternative scenarios, and ability to translate strategy into execution.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving business objectives and impactful outcomes in cross-functional leadership roles, building strong internal stakeholder relationships, and ensuring strategic alignment in a matrixed environment.

  • Clinical experience and / or advanced degree preferred.

Therefore, this role requires in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry and there competitive context. It also requires strong commercial expertise across several areas, including the pharmaceutical development process, launch excellence, and understanding market and customer requirements in order to develop strong business cases.
